Otisville
Otisville is a city in the northeastern portion of Genesee County. It is located along M-15 south of M-57. There are several attractions within the vicinity, including the Kresge Auditorium and Michigan Legacy Art Park.
The area was once known as Forest. The village started as a lumbering town in the 1850s, but was renamed in 1861. Some of the early settlers were the Stephen and Amos Biegel family. Another notable family that inhabited the region was the Matthew Mc Cormick family. However, Francis Otis bought out John Hayes and began building a lumber mill.
As the years went by, the population of the village grew. It was not long until the town renamed itself to Otisville. In addition to the new name, the area received a few upgrades and improvements. One of the first was the construction of a bridge across the river. Since then, the community has grown rapidly. At the 2010 census, the community had a population of 864. During the 2000 census, the town had a population of 882.
The Otisville area has a number of attractions that are worth a visit. Some of these include the Kresge Auditorium, Michigan Legacy Art Park and the Quanicassee Wildlife Area. Other attractions include the Tiny House, which is a small house that is a Sawyer retreat. This is the ideal place for couples or families looking for a fun getaway.
