Otisville MI is a small town that is located in Genesee County. It was first established as a lumbering town in 1852. The early settlers of the township included the Biegel and McCormick families. Francis Otis, who bought out John Hayes, established a lumber mill. Other notable people who lived in the area include Matthew McCormick and Henry Heister.

Located along the junction of M-15 and M-57, Otisville is a mid-sized city in Eastern Michigan. The city is primarily supported by agriculture, but it is also a commuter community for those living in Flint. Many retirees reside in the area.

According to the 2000 census, Otisville had an estimated population of 882. The village was originally named Forest, but changed to Otisville in 1861. In 2020, the population of the city was down to 947. This decline was caused by a loss of residents over the past ten years, as well as the recent problems at General Motors.

Most households in the village were headed by a single individual or couple. As a result, the average household size was 2.57. Married couples constituted the largest portion of the population, with 51.9% of the homes containing two or more individuals. According to the 2010 census, the city’s total population was 864. At that time, the median age of the people was 36.9 years, and the average household income was $48,125. The median property value was $65,800. During the last ten years, the home appreciation rate in the city was 6.8%.

Among the ethnic groups in the city are White (Non-Hispanic), 0.634%; Black or African American, 0.15%; Asian, 0.47%; American Indian, 0.36%; Hispanic, 0.31%; and Native Hawaiian or Other Pacific Islander, 0.739%. For most residents, the primary language spoken at home is English. However, some households reported that they spoke another language at home. Approximately 12.5% of households reported that they did not speak any language other than English.

Residents in Otisville tend to be conservative. Although most of the citizens of the city own their own homes, there are a number of residents who live in rental properties.
